Job Title: Senior Data Engineer (Ab Initio / ETL)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Ab Initio, ETL processes, and Unix/Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, developing, and deploying high-quality data integration solutions, along with mentoring team members and promoting best practices. This role requires both technical depth and leadership capabilities to support business-critical data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and implement data engineering solutions using Ab Initio and related products.
2. Apply ETL principles and practices to manage large-scale data processing in Unix/Linux environments.
3. Write efficient code, perform debugging, and resolve complex technical problems.
4. Lead Level 3 support activities and handle advanced troubleshooting.
5. Mentor team members and provide technical guidance to ensure delivery excellence.
6. Apply and promote industry best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
7. Estimate effort for new feature development and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate with systems using MQs, REST APIs, and Kafka.
9. Work with DevOps pipelines to support CI/CD and production environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

1. 8–12 years of hands-on programming experience with Ab Initio (batch and continuous flows) and shell scripting.
2. Strong experience with RDBMS (Oracle) and advanced SQL.
3. Proven knowledge of data integration frameworks and ETL tools.
4. Experience with AWS Cloud platforms and services.
5. Integration experience with message queues (MQs), REST APIs, and Kafka.
6. Background in DevOps practices and production support.
7. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience working in complex enterprise data environments.
2. Knowledge of CI/CD automation and cloud-native data services.
