This pivotal role involves leading and executing testing initiatives for both traditional and cutting-edge AI-driven applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in designing and implementing robust automation frameworks, conducting comprehensive API and performance testing, and leveraging AI-enabled QA accelerators. This is a hands-on technical leadership position requiring the ability to independently drive quality engineering activities across multiple product teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and performant software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement comprehensive test strategies, detailed test plans, and lead end-to-end test execution with complete ownership from inception to delivery.
  • Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated and scalable automation frameworks using Playwright for both UI and API automation, ensuring high code coverage and maintainability.
  • Ensure thorough service-level validation and comprehensive API testing using Playwright or equivalent industry-standard API testing tools.
  • Seamlessly integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback loops.
  • Conduct rigorous performance, load, and stress testing using k6 or equivalent tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Perform foundational security testing to proactively detect and mitigate common security vulnerabilities.
  • Mentor and guide junior QA team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and supporting the establishment of robust QA standards, metrics, and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, product management, and DevOps teams to refine requirements, ensure testability, and promote a shared understanding of quality goals.
  • Analyze complex test results, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to drive continuous improvement in product quality, reliability, and user experience.
  • Explore and apply AI/GenAI capabilities for tasks such as synthetic test data creation, automated test case generation, and predictive analytics for smarter test prioritization.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Must-Have Skills

  • Proven expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks using Playwright for UI and API automation.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI) and integrating automated tests.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript for test scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience in API testing and service-level validation.
  • Hands-on experience with performance testing tools like k6 or equivalents.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental security testing principles.
  • Proven experience in defining QA roadmaps aligned with product development goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to mentor small QA teams effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Minimum of 1+ year of exposure to AI-driven testing or automation accelerators.
  • Familiarity with AI/GenAI concepts for test automation, including synthetic test data generation, test case generation, and predictive analytics.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools for test management.
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agentic AI concepts.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying abreast of emerging trends in Quality Engineering, particularly in AI-driven QA.
