Job Title: Data Engineer III

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Engineer III to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and advanced data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT development, and modern data platforms such as Databricks, along with hands-on experience in Power BI semantic modeling.

This role requires close collaboration with analysts, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance data systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build, maintain, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and Databricks.
2. Design and implement efficient data models (dimensional modeling, schema design) to support analytics and reporting needs.
3. Develop reliable, well-structured datasets and Power BI semantic models.
4. Ensure high data quality, governance standards, and pipeline performance optimization.
5. Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
6. Contribute to best practices in data engineering, including version control and Agile methodologies.
7. (Nice to Have) Support ML model productionization and GenAI/LLM integrations.

Basic Qualifications

1. 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
2. Strong expertise in data modeling (dimensional modeling, schema design) and data warehousing concepts.
3. Advanced SQL skills with experience in query optimization and large-scale data processing.
4. Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
5. Experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake), including job orchestration and performance tuning.
6. Experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX fundamentals, and building efficient semantic layers.
7. Solid understanding of Agile practices, version control systems, and data engineering best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with ML model productionization (CI/CD for ML, feature engineering pipelines, monitoring).
2. Exposure to GenAI/LLM workflows or vector databases.
3. Experience working with MPP databases or NoSQL technologies.
4. Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders.
5. Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to data engineering standards.
