Background:
This position will be responsible for managing and delivering stable SAS Application Platform for TESCO Bank across Cloud and In-premises environment.
Knowledge
- Sound knowledge on database, ETL, BI/MI, CICD & cloud computing (AWS in specific) concepts
- Good knowledge on BI Application Platform Management
- Knowledge on Clustering application across multiple servers
- Knowledge on platform automation using Ansible
- Knowledge on ITIL process
- Knowledge on working in agile teams
- Hands-on experience in Linux with basic awareness on Shell scripting (optional)
Roles and Responsibility:
- End-To-End Enterprise Application platform support, Server Maintenance from application perspective - Monitoring and patching.
- Understand security mechanisms provided by the application and the data model behind it.
- Elaborate business requirements into design/technical solutions
- Ability to analyse project requirements and develop detailed specifications and design new BI reports keeping in view of performance, quality and schedule demands
- Provide technical inputs towards building the effort estimate and schedules.
- Ensure non-functional requirements are addressed with the design, drive design correctness and quality /technical issue resolution
- Design solutions that can be consumed in a self-service manner by both business and engineering teams
- Ability to standardize, harmonize, cleanse, prepare and use data for developing datasets/data marts for the BI reports and analytics
- Participate in Identifying, developing & automating service improvements & administrative tasks
- Produce Proof of Concept for proposed solution. Work on evaluating different technological solutions & conduct feasibility study thereof across programs (if necessary).
- Understand the impact of problem, minimize risk to service and strive for continuous improvement.
- Self-motivated & self-directed abilities to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with "time-critical" deadlines
- Interact with all the stakeholders to evaluate & influence technology options
- Play a role in resolving technical issues/ challenges/ escalate appropriately.
- Initiate and drive root cause analysis across teams.
- Integrate system with Application Performance Management (APM) tools like Splunk, or Runscope
- Implement System Back-up & Restore mechanism
- Managing projects work in system and promotion of same to higher environment
- Monitoring & reporting Server performance and troubleshooting critical performance related issues.
- Ensure procedures and technical documentation are updated to reflect changes, using standard guidelines
- Devise technical frameworks/ guidelines/ design standards/ quality checklists
- Build awareness of industry trends and evaluate applicability to project
- Share knowledge and support colleagues.
- Interacting with Vendor (SAS Inc) support when required to fix the environment or user issues.
- Handling and tracking requests/tickets, which include preparing internal performance reports and ticket analysis.
