Job Overview:

Ballard Spahr is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Office Administration to lead the Philadelphia office, which houses over 190 lawyers. Reporting to the Chief of Real Estate and Office Operations, the Director will be a visionary leader, driving positive change and fostering a collaborative environment. This role involves managing support staff, overseeing office services and facilities, and spearheading key initiatives for both the firm and the office. The successful candidate will collaborate with a talented management team, including Directors of Office Administration from other offices and chiefs from various administrative departments. This position offers the opportunity to work in a stimulating and rewarding environment, making a meaningful impact on the firm's operations and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of office administration, including support staff, facilities, and office services.
  • Develop and implement office policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Manage and oversee construction projects, including budget planning and control.
  • Oversee facilities management, ensuring the office environment is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Develop and manage the office budget, ensuring financial responsibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other Directors of Office Administration and administrative departments.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment for all employees.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Proven experience in facilities management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage construction projects.
  • Strong budget planning and control skills.
  • Excellent project management abilities.
  • Exceptional personnel management and development skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
