Job Overview

ACHNET Demo is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Control Engineer to join our RD Controls team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of control systems for automated machinery manufacturing. This role requires a strong understanding of control theory, automation principles, and hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and motion control systems. The Lead Control Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of control systems for automated machinery, including PLC programming, HMI design, and motion control.
• Oversee the implementation, testing, and commissioning of control systems on manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues, providing technical support to maintenance and operations teams.
• Develop and maintain control system documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to integrate control systems with other machine components.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations in control system design and implementation.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior control engineers.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.

Must-Have Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering, with a focus on automated machinery manufacturing.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar).
• Experience with HMI development (Wonderware, FactoryTalk View, or similar).
• Strong understanding of motion control systems (servo drives, stepper motors, etc.).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with robotics programming and integration.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
• Familiarity with safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 61508).
• Experience with data acquisition and analysis.
