Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Counsel to provide legal support and guidance related to asset reconstruction companies in India. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Indian law, particularly as it relates to finance, banking, and debt recovery. This role will involve a range of legal activities, including contract review, regulatory compliance, litigation support, and providing strategic legal advice to the company's leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support on matters related to asset reconstruction, debt recovery, and insolvency proceedings in India.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and pleadings.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Indian laws and regulations, including those related to banking, finance, and securities.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, including litigation and arbitration.
• Manage external legal counsel and oversee legal budgets.
• Advise senior management on legal risks and opportunities related to the company's operations in India.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
• Master's degree in Law (LLM) preferred.
• Admission to the Bar in India is required.

• Extensive knowledge of Indian law, particularly as it relates to asset reconstruction companies and debt recovery.
• Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience working with asset reconstruction companies or financial institutions in India.
• Familiarity with international legal frameworks related to finance and investment.
