Position Overview

The Director of Consulting and Client Relations will serve as a senior leader within WDGC, overseeing client engagements, managing consulting teams, and nurturing long-term client relationships. This individual will play a key role in driving project execution, ensuring high-impact deliverables, and developing new business opportunities. The Director will be instrumental in shaping consulting strategies and expanding the firm’s influence across industries.


Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for key client accounts.

    • Cultivate and sustain trusted advisory relationships with C-suite executives and decision-makers.

    • Proactively identify client needs and growth opportunities.

  • Consulting Leadership

    • Lead and oversee consulting engagements, ensuring strategic alignment, quality execution, and client satisfaction.

    • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

    • Provide guidance and mentorship to consulting teams.

  • Business Development

    • Collaborate with leadership to identify and pursue new business opportunities.

    • Support proposal development, pricing strategy, and client pitches.

    • Represent WDGC at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.

  • Strategic Direction

    • Contribute to the development of consulting methodologies, tools, and best practices.

    • Stay current with industry trends, economic indicators, and policy developments affecting client operations.

    • Help shape WDGC’s growth strategy and service offerings.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Urban Planning, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in consulting, economic development, site selection, or a related professional services field.

  • Proven success in leading complex client engagements and managing multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive business development and client retention.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
