Page 1 of 3 JOB DESCRIPTION BASIC INFORMATION ON THE ROLE Position Name Head of Trade Intelligence Job Code XXXX Department Division Title Head of Trade Intelligence Grade X Reporting To Direct Reports SECTION I: JOB PURPOSE Head of Trade Intelligence is responsible for ensuring organizational business understanding of trade, monitoring AD Ports Group's performance vs. target, and monitoring competitor performance through the development of standard reporting and dashboards. Provides insights specifically related to Trade Intelligence, including the development of advanced market intelligence tools and related services. Benchmarks trade intelligence and collaborates internally and externally to understand the data requirements for the commercial organization and plan commercial reporting capabilities. . Manage the capability and development of direct reportees on analysis and data science capabilities related to Trade Insights. SECTION II: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Key Responsibilities: • To manage business unit to translate information into powerful and impactful stories in the form of a relevant core report library, effective training materials and influential consulting toolkit; • Enhance thought leadership positioning and entrench connectivity through building of strategic partnerships; • Develop the long-term strategy of the organization, specifically related to Trade Intelligence, including the development of advanced market intelligence tools and related services; • Plan, manage and build the capacity of the Trade Intelligence Centre to become the undisputed best source of relevant and up to date trade related information in the country; • Develop and manage healthy, profitable and long-lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders, and continuously monitor customer satisfaction; • Keep abreast of technological advancements, benchmark Trade Intelligence performance practices and tools, manage the content development of trade related data and its distribution to internal and external stakeholders efficiently; • Conduct first-rate research and garner access to new markets, by identifying trade opportunities for export businesses; • Ongoing monitoring of customer requirements, including preparation for, and support to trade negotiations specific to exporting enterprises and their support organizations; • Awareness of National Trade Policies and Trade Negotiations. • Provides market and competitive insights to allow effective strategic and tactical decision- making and implementation utilizing the Data Science Workbenches and external datasets. SECTION III: KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Educational and Technical Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree. • 12+ years overall experience in Trade Intelligence or related role. • 8+ years experience in related role. • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to write in a clear, concise and relevant reader friendly style.
