Job Overview:

Aspire Systems is seeking a skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in z/OS development and experience with the STAR tool. This role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe applications to support our business needs. The Mainframe Developer will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure the smooth operation and efficient performance of our mainframe systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, code, test, and debug mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and other relevant technologies.
2. Design and implement software solutions based on business requirements and technical specifications.
3. Maintain and enhance existing mainframe systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
4. Utilize and maintain the STAR tool for various development and testing activities.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and resolve production issues.
6. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
7. Provide technical support and documentation for mainframe applications.

Educational Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Must-Have Skills:

1. 5-8 years of hands-on experience in z/OS development.
2. Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.
3. Experience with the STAR tool.
4. Strong understanding of mainframe systems and architecture.
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Good-to-Have Skills:

1. Experience with DB2.
2. Knowledge of CICS.
3. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
4. Experience with mainframe security practices.

Pay Rate/Salary:
