DESCRIPTION

The Head – SAP will be responsible for driving Granules’ SAP strategy and leading the end-to-end management of SAP platforms across the enterprise. The role will be pivotal in executing SAP RISE migration, business process re-engineering, SAP integrations via Middleware, and establishing robust governance frameworks to support long-term growth and compliance goals. The incumbent will lead a team of SAP experts and work closely with business, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and compliance stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  1. Define and execute SAP roadmap aligned with Granules’ global business strategy and digital transformation goals.
  2. Drive SAP RISE migration and ensure successful cloud transformation with minimal disruption.
  3. Serve as the SAP thought leader, identifying opportunities for process innovation, automation, and business value creation.

Implementation & Transformation:

  1. Lead SAP Business Process Reengineering (BPR) initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, finance, and commercial functions to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  2. Oversee SAP landscape modernization including S/4HANA with RISE, Business Technology Platform (BTP) adoption, and advanced capabilities like Fiori Apps.
  3. Drive integrations through SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) for seamless connectivity with internal systems and external partners.

Technical Oversight:

  1. Provide leadership on technical domains: ABAP development, SAP Basis administration, MDM (Master Data Management) solutions, systems architecture, and performance optimization.
  2. Ensure adoption of SAP Fiori for mobility, simplicity, and improved user experience.
  3. Implement governance models for SAP change management, upgrades, and security aligned with pharma regulatory standards (GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).

Team & Stakeholder Management:

  1. Build and lead a high-performing SAP CoE (Center of Excellence).
  2. Partner with cross-functional leaders (Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, HR) to define requirements and deliver SAP-enabled solutions.
  3. Manage vendor partnerships and service delivery models.

Governance & Compliance:

  1. Ensure SAP solutions adhere to regulatory compliance frameworks (pharma manufacturing, GxP, SOX, GDPR, etc.).
  2. Maintain robust data governance, access controls, IT General Controls (ITGCs), and standard documentation practices.
  3. Establish KPIs/SLAs to measure value realization, system uptime, and operational stability.

Key Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. MBA preferred.
  2. Experience:
  3. 10 – 15 years of total SAP technology experience, with at least 5+ years in SAP leadership roles.
  4. Proven track record of SAP RISE migration to S/4HANA in a global manufacturing environment.
  5. Strong exposure to pharmaceutical/life sciences industry processes and regulatory compliance needs.
  6. Demonstrated expertise in SAP Business Process Reengineering,
  7. FI/CO, PP, MM, QM, SD modules integration with Platforms such as MES, LIMS, WMS, CRM, SCM tools, Planning tools etc
  8. Hands-on understanding of ABAP, Basis, SAP BTP, CPI integration, Fiori apps, and MDM.
  9. Leadership: Experience leading cross-functional SAP teams (internal, external, and offshore model) with strong stakeholder communication.
  10. Skills: Strategic planning, vendor management, SAP program management, governance frameworks, regulatory compliance.
